What shall i say to my orthadontist?

My orthadontist clearly warned me about fizzy drinks when i had my braces fitted. I did well. Then i drank a small gl of pop. So then i started drinking pop, against anything my ortha said :S One of my brackets has come off (still holding to the wire) with half the cement off. Is this erosion from the pop? If so, what shall i say? I dont want to be told off :( Please help
