I have some questions about supplements for weight lifting..?

Ok so im pretty strong. weight 169 bench 260. For the last few months ive been taking about 3 scoops of whey protein on the days i lift and usually one scoop on days i dont lift but i also eat alot of high protein foods. Im wondering if i should switch from whey to something with high nitric oxide. I know exactly what whey does but not what nitric acid does. I have tried it once i think, i tried something called N.O Explode? And im 17 if that matters. But if you know alot about it and have seen great results from it, help me out. Thanks
