Should I go to college in America for a semester and then transfer to a College in Guatemala?

I'm about to start college in the U.S. but I was considering going to college in Guatemala since it'd be a lot cheaper and i already have family living near the Universities there. however, I don't know if I should go to college for a semester here and then transfer or just go straight to Guatemala? suggestions are welcomed.
