If Jesus wasn't crucified would Christianity have flourished?

if Jesus wasn't crucified there wouldn't be christianity. it is onlly His death that means anything. it fulfills bible prophecy and achieves atonement for all of us. it is the only act that He needed to go through for us. His words were important but His actions are what really matters.
