How do i deal with a fiance that would rather spend more time with his dad?

Well... think about it. When he came back did he come and see you first? If he did, it's fine. He probably just hasn't seen them in awhile, and wants to catch up. Especially since you're getting married, he probably just wants to be aways until the day (as in the groom can't see the bride before the wedding... etc)
