Does aries make impulsive moves without thinking?

My rising is Aries, astrologically does this explain my quickness? Sometimes when I am confronted with issues, I truly want to snap and just let that person have it, but then the coolness kicks in, leaving me standing there remaining indifferent until everything has cooled down. Sometimes I am prone to doing and saying things without giving it much thought. But I've tamed that part of me recently. For eg, I was about to call this girl who lied to me - i despise liars - and I was going to verbally annihilate her, but then I decided not to. I decided to wait a few minutes and to let myself cool down. After I cooled down, I decided not to speak to her at all.
